FRABEN — processing technology in development
Fractionate and Beneficiate
VAA's FRABEN programme is focused on developing a portable process to
produce a gold-bearing concentrate without adding chemical reagents
during the separation stage. The development objective is to reduce
the quantity of material requiring downstream treatment while retaining
gold in the concentrated fraction.
FRABEN is a separate development programme alongside the proposed
conventional vat-leach campaign at Holleton. Its application depends on
material suitability, demonstrated performance, commercial assessment
and applicable approvals.
Gold reprocessing involves treating material from earlier mining or
processing activities to recover remaining gold. It can involve historic
stockpiles or previously treated material, such as tailings. Sampling and
processing studies are needed to assess suitability; previous mining or
treatment alone does not establish a viable recovery project.
What gold-bearing material does VAA consider?
VAA's focus is previously mined and historically treated gold-bearing
material. At Holleton, the reprocessing plan concerns
historically mined and treated lateritic material. Each enquiry is considered on its own material
characteristics, available information, site access and project requirements.

Peter Sworder
Chief Executive Officer & Director
Peter is a mechanical engineer, former airline captain, entrepreneur and
gold-processing project leader. His Western Australian gold-processing
experience dates from 1984 and includes historic tailings and laterite
treatment, conventional vat-leach projects, plant selection, approvals
coordination and practical project delivery.
At VAA Resources, Peter leads processing strategy, technical evaluation and
project planning for the Holleton Gold Project. He is also evaluating
alternative beneficiation approaches for previously treated gold-bearing
material as a separate research and development activity.
